This is a very popular Trekking route in Tibet due to its altitude. The tracking starts from Tingri and ends at Mt Everest Base camp. The trek gets more adventurous once when we get to the Rongbuk monastery near Everest base camp at 5000 meters. As we get closer to Rongbuk, trekking offers you great opportunity to have a unique experience. The Everest being the highest mountain in the world is called “Sagarmatha” the goddess mother of the world. It has long attract many natural lovers and trekkers. In short you will be trekking towards Everest from Thingri until its base camp.

This is the free day for you to get proper acclimatization. After the proper rest, we could go for sightseeing or we could arrange you a tour to near by areas like Ganden or Tsurphu monastery with extra charge.
This is your first day outside Lhasa, You will be traveling to Gyantse on friendship Highhway. around noon you will reach at the majestic Yamdrok lake and Nyenchen Kangsar. After having lunch at Nangartse. you will reach at Carola glacier at 5045 meters above sea level. After the hours driving you will see the beautiful landscape of Tibetan village set up indicating that you are entering the town of Gyantse.
Yamdrok Lake: is one of the three largest sacred lakes in Tibet. It is over 72 km (45 mi) long. The lake is surrounded by many snow-capped mountains and is fed by numerous small streams. The lake does have an outlet stream at its far western end. Around 90 km to the west of the lake lies the Tibetan town of Gyantse and Lhasa is a hundred km to the northeast. According to local mythology, Yamdrok Lake is the transformation of a goddess.
Gyangtse: is a small agricultural town is at 13, 050 ft above sea level and is famous for its wool carpets. The Palkhor Monastery built in 1427, is notable for its superb Kumbum (10,000 images) sputa, which has nice tiers and, according to the Buddhist tradition, 108 chapels. The lower tiers contain excellent murals. A Kumbum (“One hundred thousand holy images”, is a multi-storied aggregate of Buddhist chapels in Tibet . It forms part of Palchoe monastery.
Today we will first go for sightseeing in Gyantse and then we will travel to Shigatse which would take two hours covering 90 kms. Once when we at Shigatse we will first check in the hotel and we will have lunch and after lunch we will go to Visit Tashi Lunpo monastery.
Tashi-Lhunpo monastery was build by first Dalai lama in 1447. which is later presented to his teacher the Panchen Lama since it remain as a seat of Panchen Lama. The monastery has four main chapel which include the chapel of Maitreya housing a 26 meter high statue of Maitreya, the future Buddha. Tomb of 10th Panchen Lama which is the newest chapel in the monastery. Tomb of 4th and 9th Panchen Lama. You can observe a little different style of architecture in Tashi Lhunpo as compare to others.
today we will drive to Tingri, before leaving we will have free time to explore the Shigatse and we will leave for Tingri. We will be traveling along the Friendship Highway through the picturesque landscape. We will pass through small town of Lhatse and Gyatso la pass at 5220m. As the route opens into plains, many monasteries and camp of nomadic herders become visible en route to Tingri where you will meet up with your trekking crew (cook and assistance).
Today we will take a rest day in Tingri which is highly recommended by many expert hikers. The rest day is to properly unsure the team member to get proper acclimatization before we head off high off into total wilderness of tough Tibetan highland. Your crew will set up a little off the friendship highway. View of surrounding mountian from a small hillock near your camp side is awesome.
Today we will head towards Cho Oyo. As we reach near the village of Chholung, you will see a small Monastery in the horizon. Further on, we will walk on the open barren plains. Many hikers were amaze to local villager harvesting barley on these barren fields. You can find a superb local for the camp for the night.
You will find the trail quite strenuous. But as soon as your eyes bask in the splendor of majestic vistas of surrounding mountain peaks, you will realize that this trek has indeed been very self-rewarding and worthwhile. Camping a top of this pass will dwarfs other materialistic pleasures.
Today we have to descent steeply through verdant vegetation. En route we will encounter yak herders. The trails continues towards the whitewashed walls and barren fields of Zommug village. Amazing vistas of Mt. Everest and Gyachung Kang will visually rejuvenates us as we enter Zommug. Since lands are infertile, local villages are largely dependent on animal husbandry for the livelihood. We will camp for the night at a superb location.
